Examples of events held by participating employers

Stop work on all projects at 10:00 to recognize the Safety Break and conduct their weekly safety meeting at that time.

Three day safety observance focusing on Driving Under the Influence, Stress, and Office Ergonomics. Presentations on setting up work stations with correct ergonomic alignment.

Celebrate Oregon OSHA SHARP status. Refreshments served to employees during Safety Breaks and management team members talk one-on-one with employees and commend them for safe work records.

Coffee Break for Safety to remind workers about safety on the job

Hold workshops for employees at several office locations featuring safety information and educating workers about the Safety Committee.

Hold a Safety Break during the afternoon to allow employees and truck drivers a chance to have refreshments and talk about safety.

All day "Safety Day", including refreshments, workers dressed in safety attire and distributing safety information.

A Safety Fair for employees, including information about pole safety and dealing with vicious animals on work sites.

Safety Recognition Award ceremony with safety information and refreshments.

Safety Lunch for employees to recognize first quarter safety achievements and focus on the theme "Safety - not for what it prevents, but what it lets us continue."

Monthly safety meeting will include a BBQ for workers honoring safety achievements during the past year.

Safety awareness lunchtime event for employees, including information from Red Cross, local public safety and animal control agencies.

Safety event with BBQ, evaluating hazardous workstations, electrical awareness workshops.
