Oregon OSHA Online Course Instructions
Note:This training is offered only to Oregon employers and employees participating in the Oregon Workers' Compensation System. Other Oregon residents and non-residents are welcome to read and print the material.
Welcome!
This course contains five modules. This course will award 4 hours of credit towards any of our Professional Development Program certificates and/or .4 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits at some Oregon community colleges.
Follow these steps
Step One: Start the course.
- This course is most easily completed offline, at your convenience. There's no hurry or time limit to complete the course.
- Click on the links in the Course Outline below to access each module. You may want to print all course modules, and the Assignments Worksheet page to keep for future reference.
- Study each module and complete the quiz before moving on to the next module. Although the quiz questions are not graded, they're an important part of your study process. Quiz answers are available at the bottom of each module.
- After completing all modules, use the assignments worksheet to draft answers to the required extended response assignments.
Important: Your assignments are evaluated by a qualified instructor, not a computer program. We use extended response assignments to best evaluate comprehension of the concepts and principles presented in the course. Each assignment requires a response that indicates you've read and comprehend the material. To make sure you do not receive an "incomplete" from the instructor make sure you: - Read the assignment carefully! Circle key words.
- Do not copy/paste information from the text. Use your own words.
- Do not skip an assignment.
- Do not submit a list when a discussion or description is required
- Do
not submit a one-word or short-phrase answer. Give it some thought.
- Do not submit a "one-liner" response when a discussion, summary, or description is required
If you find it difficult to complete an assignment, please reference Course Appendix B for more information.
Step Two: Submit your coursework.
- After completing the draft assignments offline, return to the Course Module
page and click on the "Submit Your Coursework" at the bottom of the page to
submit your work online.
- Be sure to also complete the course evaluation and certificate information.
- Submit the Final Assignments web page.
- Important! Print and/or save the response screen that appears on your computer monitor for your records. If the coursework submission somehow fails, you may need it to prove you submitted the work.
What to expect after you complete the course.
Within ten business days after submitting the Final Assignments web page,
you'll receive an email reply from the instructor with comments on assignments and a statement that you have either passed the course, or need to redo one or more assignments.
Once you've successfully passed the course, you'll receive a course completion certificate.
Safety committees or other groups may study the course together as long as each person individually submits their own course work.
Always include a complete return email address when submitting email to the instructor. The final submission page is sent through a network mail server that drops your return email address when it forwards the coursework.
