Fatality statistics

The linked tables include both program-related and non-program-related workplace fatalities. Program-related workplace fatalities are those that are both compensable and investigated by Oregon OSHA. Compensable workplace fatalities are those covered by Oregon's workers' compensation law.

This table enumerates Oregon workplace fatalities reported to Oregon OSHA, sorted by year and cause of fatality. It includes all workplace fatalities for the years noted and does not distinguish between program-related and other workplace fatalities.

Safety Notes
Safety Notes are published in Oregon Health and Safety Resource, an Oregon OSHA newsletter. They are descriptions of fatalities and serious accidents, with illustrations, investigation results, and information on preventing similar accidents. Safety Notes presented are for information, research, or occupational injury prevention only.

 

FACE reports
Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) reports are prepared by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Oregon Health Sciences University's Center for Research on Occupational and Environmental Toxicology (CROET). FACE reports include incident descriptions, photographs of accident scenes, investigation reports, and other information.
