> What you need to know about safety committees and safety meetings
If you’re an employer in Oregon, your business must have a safety committee or hold safety meetings, unless you’re a sole owner or the only employee of a corporation.
The best way to determine if you should have a safety committee or hold safety meetings is to read our Quick guide to safety committees and safety meetings. It covers our main safety committee/safety meeting rule — 437-001-0765 — and the most important things you need to know about setting up safety committees or safety meetings.
- If you’re an agricultural employer, follow our rules for safety committees in our Agriculture rules — Division 4, Subdivision C. Note: On Jan. 1, 2010, agricultural employers will have a new rule on safety committees and safety meetings: 437-004-0251.
- If you’re a forest activities employer, follow our rules for safety committees in our forest activities rules — Division 7, Subdivision B, Safety and Health Program, and Subdivision C, Planning, First Aid, and Work Conditions.
